It’s different photographing your own child. Photographers know this.

I set out this morning to test a new lens – and get a few new portraits of my 2 year old.

She lasted less than five minutes. But how long will these images last?? :)

Fall mini sessions are approaching – and heck, Fall in general is! Yay! My favorite time of year. Beautiful colors and tones outside – Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks – warm apple cider – hot chocolate – bonfires – yes. Yes, I love Fall.

I put together a few fun fall looks for the little guys and girls in your lives – hopefully these help spark some ideas for your fall sessions!

One of my favorite kid quotes comes from this session! Look toward the bottom of the photos for that gem. I really enjoyed meeting this family!! It’s always a tad bit nerve wracking to work for another photographer, but Staci and her family couldn’t have been any sweeter! Eva was your typical 3 year old – if she didn’t want to do something, she’d just say no & do what she wanted to do! & that’s great! That’s a kid for ya. Maggie is 1 1/2 and she honestly took a bit of my heart with her. She holds on to her Minnie Mouse everywhere she goes and when were halfway through the session, she walked up and gave Minnie to me. That meant a TON to me. I know important that is to her, I have my own little girl who has her prized possessions! ♥ Thank you Maggie :) Brad & Staci – you are doing such an amazing job raising your girls. They were awesome to work with! Hope you enjoy the photos & Staci have a wonderful Mothers Day!!!

This was the very first photo I took of Maggie – this is exactly how she greeted me! Hello, sweetness!

I just think this is such a fun family photo :) Who needs all eyes on the camera. Psh ;)

Ok, this was such a funny moment. Eva was making what looked to be a house in the sand – I said “Are you making a house?” after some more guessing and her saying “No” she finally said “I’m making a pile!” – So obvious, right?! I loved it! (Maybe it’s one of those ‘you had to be there’ things…lol)

Just a few hours ago I met with the Kleinmaier family! Staci is a photographer too, and us mom photographers are always behind the camera – so this was a chance for her to get in front of it for some family photos! In February, I had a sort of ‘flash’ deal for Random Act of Kindness day – and Staci hopped right on it & won! I hope you love these Staci! More to come ;)

We’re only days away from celebrating our little Miss Lauren’s 2nd birthday. It’s bittersweet. I’m having a hard time knowing that my “baby” isn’t really a baby anymore. I find myself backtracking every time I’m with her and I’ve called her baby – I’m trying to say “big girl”. But it makes me sad! I feel like soon she’ll be off to school! I know, I know. It’s just amazing how fast the time goes. Today she had a little fun outside in the dirt. She even tasted it. I don’t think she liked it but I bet she’d try it again! Haha. Hope you enjoy :)

(BTW – her cute little headband is from Miah Rhodes – check her out, she’s so wonderful to work with!!)

Oh, wait! Have to get a bug! (She is fascinated with bugs right now.)

I told her to go tickle the chair! She LOVES to tickle people, and apparently chairs, too!

Bug hunting.

Running down the small hill, only to fall at the end (on purpose) and say “Otay?!” – as if she actually fell and she’s telling me she’s ok. Hah!

Dirt. I usually get her away from this dirt but today I thought it would be fun to catch on camera.

She tasted the dirt.

She actually looked at me!!! I pretty much always get a turned head. This was great!
