Oh What a Night!

Yesterday I wondered what I would title the blog that goes with the pictures from the family session I had last night. I didn’t really need to think that hard afterward! The way to the session was very slow and painful. (Ok not painful, per say.) Road construction in the summer is love/hate. You hate it because it slows everything down, but yet when it’s winter you’re (or just hubby & I, maybe!) complaining about the pot holes and what a mess the roads are. We humans are never satisfied. The construction slowed us to a halt so many times and having the baby in the backseat – she cried the whole way. Oh what fun! Poor kiddo. She likes the car to actually move…not just sit there. So of course with the construction we ran late. That was the first sign this night was going to run long!
When we actually got to our destination – all was well. We got to it – started photographing – got some good shots – but unfortunately, with the pushing back of the time to shoot, the sun was not in the best location for our session. We did some inside shots, ate some pizza, and got back outside about, oh, 8 o’clock! Wow! But I learned, thanks to the Anderson Fam, that it was actually a great time to shoot outside. I really didn’t know that! So many of our greatest shots came from that late at night. I am always learning at these sessions and I am very thankful for that. Keeps you on your toes, for sure. So – - all in all, it was a late but great night!
